    Anecdote:
    • Emma taught School for a short time and Charles was a farmer
      and owned a grocery store in St. Thomas. In 1918 they moved to
      Fenwick and bought a small farm that is till in the family. By
      the late 1940s the farm was planted with Christmas trees an
      endeavor which continues to present
