Founder of the BLACKMERE LINE of the Strange Family
in 1270/1 he was about to go to the Holy Land. In 1272 he was pardoned for cutting and selling a part of a wood at Chawton, Hants, which had been given to him by his brother «b»Hamon«/b». In 1275 he did homage for the manor of Wrockwardine, which «b»Hamon«/b» had given to him by charter. He married «b»Eleanor«/b», daughter and coheir of «b»William De Blancminster«/b», who survived him. He died on or before 12 Oct 1276.
