John Kagel book has name as Bretz and spelling in Reunion notes could be
Rentz or Reutz with Rentz being more likely. Family record (bible?) looks
like
Nancy painAbraham's first wife, Nancy Bretz, probably married him in Ohio. Nancy Bretz Whiteman died i n 1846, and shortly afterward, two daughters died and were buried near Clyde, Ohio, per Rothr ock reference.
Rothrock refers to her as Nancy Bretz( page 6); Byron G. Whiteman refers to her as Nancy (Reu tz?) Paine.
