Biographical Summary
Bartholomew Allerton was born around 1612 or 1613 in Leiden, Holland, to p arents Isaac and Mary (Norris) Allerton. He, his parents, and his siste rs Remember and Mary came to Plymouth on the Mayflower in 1620. At some p oint, Bartholomew returned to England and took up residence in Norfolk a nd later Bramfield, Suffolk. A 1657 chancery suit, a couple of lette rs in the British Library, and his 1658/9 will are the known records of h is life in England. Nobody has successfully documented descent from Barth olomew Allerton, but he probably does have some descendants living in Engl and, if information about his children could be further traced.

Will of Bartholomew Allerton
Bartholomew Allerton of Bamfield, Suffolk, wrote a couple of letters to S ir P. Percival, that are currently in the British Library manuscript colle ction (Add. 46928 folio 159, and Add. 46929 folio 11).
Bartholomew Allerton was a defendant in a Chancery lawsuit, (C 5/30, no. 5 7), dated 1657, for Mendham, Suffolk.
