services will be held for the late Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Mabie,
45, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank H. Beck, 1331 Kinzie
Street, at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in Rice cemetery. The
Rev. C.A. Sickafoose of the Castle United Brethren church will
officiate. Mrs. Mabie died Saturday, of general paralysis at
the state hospital at Logansport, where she had been a patient
14 years. She was the daughter of Parmenus and Melvina
Williams, and was born in Niles Mich. On March 2, 1895. Her
marriage to William Mabie took place in St. Joseph, Mich, on
July 25, 1908, and soon afterward they located in Elkhart,
where she remained until stricken with her long illness.
Surviving are her husband, who lived in South Bend; a stepson,
Charles Mabie of Elkhart; a step daughter, Mrs. William
Messenger of Jackson, Mich., and five sisters - Mrs. John Beck,
Mrs. Floyd Manwarren, Mrs. L.C. Pollard, and Mrs Madaline B.
Williams, all of Elkhart; and the Mrs John Wolford of Niles.
