- Sarah Maybee, born 10/4/1851 - Brockville, Long Island, N. Y.
died 1/8/1944 age 92. Daughter of Henry Maybee and Mary Mott
Maybee. A native of Long Island, attending school at East
Norwich, Long Island, she then graduated from Oswego Normal
School. Her first teaching assignment in 1871 in the grade
schools. Principal of Main Street Academy.
Attended Central Presbyterial Church, Huntington, N. Y.
Sarah Maybee taught over 3,000 pupils over a period of 57 years
and her record says she missed exactly one day in all those
years of teaching, and then her Doctor insisted she had "the
fever".
