- William Giles Maybee left a will 09 May 1842 Thurlow Township,
Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. " Last Will and Testament of
William Giles Maybee late of Thurlow Tp I, William Giles Maybee
of the Township of Thurlow, District of Victoria and Province
of Canada, Yeoman, do make and declare this my last will and
testament in name and form following;
First, I ---- give my soul unto the hands of Almighty God
hoping and believing in a renunciation of my sins by the ----
and mediation of Jesus Christ, and my body I commit it to the
earth, to be buried at the discretion of my Executors
hereinafter named And my worldly estate I give and divide as
follows.
First I give and bequeath to my younger son James all that my
whole repage and tenement situate lying and being at Lot No six
East half in the fifth Concession of Thurlow containing one
hundred acres (the place on which I now live) be the same more
or less To have and to hold to my said son James his heirs and
assigns forever subject to the following conditions, viz that
the above named property remain in the possession of my wife
Elizabeth until my said son James shall be twenty one years of
age. After that, one half of said property to remain in the
possession of my wife Elizabeth as long as she shall remain my
widow and I further give and devise to my son James my ----
colt, saddle and bridle and ----.
Secondly I give and devise to my son John the south half of
the west half of Lot No 25 twenty five in the twelfth
concession of Hungerford containing fifty acres be the same
more or less farthe Lise ?? ship to have and to hold to my son
John his heirs and assigns forever
Thirdly I give and devise to my son Benjamin all that my whole
repage and testament situate lying and being the whole of the
south half and the East part or half of the North half of Lot
No twenty four in the twelfth concession of the Township of
Hungerford, Victoria District containing one hundred and fifty
acres be the same more or less to have and to hold to my said
son Benjamin his heirs and assigns forever
Fourthly I give and devise to my son John Nelson the west half
of North half of Lot No twenty four in the twelfth concession
of the Township of Hungerford, District and Province containing
fifty acres be the same more or less to have and to hold to my
son John Nelson his heirs and assigns forever.
And finally all the rest residue and remainder of all my
affects real and personal whatsoever and whomsoever not herein
before mentioned or disposed of ( after payment of my debts,
legacy, funeral expenses and other charges as aforesaid ) I do
give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth whom I hereby
appoint sole executrix of this my last will and testament. In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the
seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and forty two."
