He was born on Jan 26, 1873, in Minnesota. He moved to Nebraska with his parents and later they came to Washington, arriving in Mount Vernon about the turn of the century. He worked as a bolt cutter, tie maker and trapper in the Skagit City and Milltown areas. Later he moved to the Little Mountain area where he resided on a farm until his death. Surviving is a sister in Nebraska; a brother-in-law, Ralplh Poland; two nephews, Ted and George Starr of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews in Washington and Nebraska. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Light funeral home."
