    • When the family moved to Jefferson County in 1836, the spelling
      was changed to "Maybee" by the record keepers. Thus, all of
      Barnard's and John's children living in Jefferson County and
      later in St. Lawrence County used the new spelling, "Maybee".
      And that is how my name came to be spelled "Maybee".
