- Peter Ramier was born in 1795 in St. Brelade, Jersey Island and
was placed as an apprentice with the Charles Robins firm in
1807 by his father and mother. (See Quiet Adventurers of North
America, by Marion Turk.) He was 11 years old and worked for
the company until he was 20. He lived in the Pasbebiac area
and then went to Nouvelle, Gaspe in 1815 and in 1816 married
Mancy Ann Beebe.
