- This story is told by Mrs Audrey Bull Manners of Woller,
Ontario of her great grandfather Ephraim Maybee. "Ephriam, who
was the son of Captain Abraham Maybee, whittled from split
shingles, models of the Needle and the Chesapeake Gun, used in
the Franco-Prussian War. To save these models in 1870 our
father (William Corey Bull, 1865-1954) nailed them in a
partition of his bedroom. About forty years later, when the
house was torn down, they looked for and found them"
