in 1582 «b»Gerald«/b»'s estates were placed under sequestration and father and son were imprisoned in the tower of London and released in Jun 1583. «b»Henry«/b» succeeded his father to the title and became 12th Earl of Kildare. He was probably related to the well known Fitzgerald family, the knights of Glin. «u»«b»Queen Elizabeth <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/aboutElizabeth.htm>«/u»«/b» desired the lord deputy to exchange some of the crown lands with «b»Henry, Earl of Kildare«/b»
