Whilst it is possible that his elder brother «b»John«/b» did not take the title of Baron because he never reached the age of maturity, it is not clear why «b»Giles«/b» did not either. However, as his grandson «b»Giles«/b» obtained a new creation as a peer, and noting that none of the 3rd to 5th lords were actually called to parliament, it is possible that there was doubt on the inheritance of the Barony from the time of the 2nd Lord.
