obtained livery of his lands, in the 20th Edw. IV., without making proof of his age, was summoned to parliament as a baron, under the designation of "Johanni Grey de Powers", from 15 Nov 1482, 22 Edw. IV., to 16 Jan, 1497, 12th Hen. VII. Sir Harris Nicolas, in his "Synopsis of the Peerage" deems the Barony of Grey of Powis created by the summons of Edw. IV., not a continuation of that Cherleton of Powis.
