After «u»«b»Wolsey <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/Bios/ThomasWolsey(Cardinal).htm>«/u»«/b»'s attainder in 1530 the king granted the manor for life to «b»Sir Anthony Oughtred«/b» and his wife «b»Elizabeth«/b» in 1531 and then granted it in reversion to «b»Sir Robert Oughtred«/b» in 1552. The following year it was settled upon «b»Sir Robert«/b»'s daughter «b»Dorothy«/b» on her marriage with «b»John Constable«/b».
