styled Lord Maltravers, only son and heir apparent, by 1st wife, born in 1538. Knighted as a Knight of the Bath, being 5th in order of the 40 knights so created at the coronation of «u»«b»Edward VI <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/aboutEdward.htm>«/u»«/b», 20 Feb 1546/7. Matric. Cambridge (Queen's College) May 1549. He married (Lic. 12 Apr 1555) «b»Anne«/b», widow of «b»Sir Hugh Rich«/b», 3rd dau. and coheir of «b»Sir John Wentworth of Gosfield«/b», Essex. Being sent Ambassador to the «b»King of Bohemia«/b», he caught a fever, and died s.p. and v.p., 30 Jun 1556, at Brussels, and was buried in the Cathedral there, aged 18. His widow married, between 1573 and 1580, «b»William Deane«/b». She was buried 10 Jan 1580/1, at Gosfield afsd., as "«i»Anne, Lady Maltravers, uxor William Deane Esq.«/i»" in her will dated 26 Mar 1573, she styles herself "«i»late wife of the Rt. Hon. Henry Earl of Arundel«/i»"«i»,«/i» and bequeaths her residue to "«i»my servant«/i»" «b»William Deane«/b», who pr. the said will 15 Feb 1580/1. He, who, in 1571, bought Dynes Hall, Great Maplestead, Essex, married 2ndly, «b»Anne«/b», widow of «b»George Blythe«/b», clerk to the Council of York, and daughter of «b»Thomas Egerton«/b», and had issue, and died 4 Oct 1585
