The Tyrwhitts, of Cameringham, co. Lincoln, descended from «b»Marmaduke«/b», fourth son of «b»Sir William Tyrwhitt of Kettelby«/b», Sheriff co. Lincoln, 28 Henry VIII, were represented by «b»Sir Thomas Tyrwhitt«/b», Lord Warden of the Stannaries, and Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, who d. 1833. «b»Sir Thomas«/b»'s uncle, «b»John Tyrwhitt, Esq., of Netherclay House«/b», co. Somerset, Capt. R.N., d. 1812, leaving three sons: 1) «b»Thomas«/b», who took the name of Jones, and was created a Baronet in 1808; 2) «b»John«/b», some time Marshal to the Admiralty at Gibraltar; and 3) «b»Richard, of Nantyr«/b», co.
