Killed «b»Henry Compton«/b» in a duel at Putney on 13 May 1652, was tried and found guilty of manslaughter after a long imprisonment, 17 May 1654. He died of smallpox in Feb. 1654-5, and was buried at Sudeley. He married 1st «b»Susan«/b», daughter of «u»«b»Henry Montague, Earl of Manchester <http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/Bios/HenryMontague(1EManchester).htm>«/u»«/b», by whom he had 3 daughters, and 2nd, «b»Jane«/b», daughter of «b»John Savage, Earl Rivers«/b», by whom he had 3 daughters. His brother «b»William«/b» succeeded him as 7th Lord Chandos.
