«b»Adalbert I«/b» (died «u»17 July «/u» «u»923 «/u» or «u»8 October «/u» «u»924 «/u») was the son of «u»Anscar of Ivrea «/u» and, from his death in 902, «u»margrave of Ivrea «/u».
He rebelled against «u»Berengar I «/u» in 905 in support of «u»Louis III«/u». When Louis was defeated, captured, and blinded, Adalbert was exiled to «u»Burgundy «/u», whence «u»his family «/u»had originated. He later returned and rebelled against, this time with «u»Lambert, Archbishop of Milan «/u», in support of another rival for the «u»Italian throne «/u»: «u»Rudolf II of Burgundy «/u». Initially unsuccessful, he and Rudolf jointly defeated Berengar at the «u»Battle of Firenzuola «/u» on «u»29 July «/u» «u»923 «/u».
He married firstly, before 900, «u»Gisela of Friuli «/u», a daughter of «u»Berengar I of Italy «/u» and «u»Bertila of Spoleto «/u». With her, he had two children:

Around 915, he married «u»Ermengard «/u», the daughter «u»Adalbert II of Tuscany «/u» and «u»Bertha, daughter of Lothair II «/u». From this marriage he had a second son, «u»Anscar «/u», «u»Duke of Spoleto «/u».
