      Sir Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of the County of Cork was born on 13 October 1566 at «u»Canterbury, Kent, England «/u».«sup»1«/sup» He was the son of «u»Roger Boyle «/u» and «u»Joan Naylor «/u».«sup»1«/sup» He married, firstly, «u»Joan Apsley «/u», daughter of «u»Captain William Apsley «/u» and «u»Annabella Browne «/u», on 6 November 1595 at «u»Limerick, County Limerick, Ireland «/u».«sup»2«/sup» He married, secondly, «u»Catherine Fenton «/u», daughter of «u»Sir Geoffrey Fenton «/u» and «u»Alice Weston «/u», on 25 July 1603 at «u»Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland «/u».«sup»2«/sup» He died on 15 September 1643 at age 76 at «u»Youghal, County Cork, Ireland «/u».«sup»2«/sup» He was buried at «u»St. Mary's Abbey, Youghal, County Cork, Ireland «/u».«sup»2«/sup» His will (dated 24 November 1642) was probated in 1668.«sup»2«/sup»
