«/b»Other ancient Jewish sources, particularly the «u»Book of Jubilees «/u», point to Arpachshad as the immediate progenitor of Ura and Kesed, who allegedly founded the city of \ul«i»Ur Kesdim \ulnone«/i» (Ur of the Chaldees) on the west bank of the «u»Euphrates «/u» (Jub. 9:4; 11:1-7) \emdash the same bank where «u»Ur «/u», identified by «u»Leonard Woolley «/u» in 1927 as Ur of the Chaldees, is located.
Donald B. Redford has asserted that Arpachshad is to be identified with «u»Babylon«/u».
