Kerry, by Margaret, dau. of Francis Chute, Esq. of Chute Hall, in the same county; b. 1807; m. 1857 Ellen Louisa, dau. of Thomas Stratford Dennis, Esq., of Fortgranite, co. Wicklow. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin (BA 1829); called to the Irish Bar 1831; appointed Registrar of the Supreme Court of Calcutta 1848, and Administrator-General of Bengal 1850; is a Magistrate for co. Kerry - Oak Park, near Tralee, co. Kerry; University Club, Dublin.

"Collis-Sandes House, or Oak Park House was designed by the Irish Architect, Mr William Atkins (1812\endash 1887), constructed in 1849 as a family mansion for Maurice Fitzgerald Sandes, a barrister who held the position of Registrar General of Bengal, before returning to Ireland to the post of Justice of the Peace and High Sheriff of Tralee."
