initially of Harrington, etc.; settled temp. «b»Edward I«/b» at Aldingham, Lancs, which he acquired on marrying «b»Agnes«/b», dau. of «b»Robert de Cansfield«/b» by «b»Aline«/b» (sister and heir of «b»Sir Michael Fleming or Furness«/b», of Michelland or Muchland in Furness, and area of Furness whose chief place was Aldingham). [Burke's Peerage]. Lost all his lands but about 380 acres of the Manor of Flemingby in litigation with the «b»Abbott of Holm Cultram«/b», whose lands were north of the Monor. However, by marriage to «b»Agnes«/b», daughter of «b»Sir Richard Cansfield«/b», he secured the rich manor of Aldingham on Morcambe Bay in Lancashire and moved south to that location.
