Sir William, celebrated Chief Justice during the reign of Henry IV, married secondly Joan, dau. of Sir William Pickering, Kgt., and widow of Sir Ralph Greystock. Sir William Gascoigne and Elizabeth Mowbray, his first wife, are buried in the altar-tomb of the Harewood Church on the Manor Estate. Note: Burke's "Extinct and Dormant Baronetcies," (London, 1841, p. 622) gives his death as 1412.
