«b»Rothechtaid«/b», son of Maen, son of «u»Óengus Olmucaid «/u», was, according to according to medieval Irish legend and historical tradition, a «u»High King of Ireland «/u». He came to power by killing the previous incumbent, his grandfather's killer «u»Énna Airgdech «/u», in the battle of Raigne. He ruled for twenty-two years. The «u»«i»Lebor Gabála Érenn «/u»«/i» gives two versions of his death. In once version, he was killed in single combat in «u»Cruachan «/u» by «u»Sétna Airt «/u», who fought to protect his son «u»Fíachu Fínscothach «/u». In the other version, he died of his wounds in «u»Tara «/u».«u»[1]«/u» The chronology of «u»Geoffrey Keating «/u»'s «i»Foras Feasa ar Éirinn«/i» dates his reign to 1005-980 BC,«u»[2]«/u» that of the «u»«i»Annals of the Four Masters «/u»«/i» to 1383-1358 BC.«u»[3]«/u»
