- «b»http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cepheus,_King_of_Aethiopia
«/b»In «u»Greek mythology «/u», «b»Cepheus«/b» was ruler of the Phoenician nation of «u»Aethiopia «/u».
Cepheus' parentage is usually given as «u»Belus «/u» and «u»Achiroe «/u», making him the brother of «u»Danaus «/u», King of Libya, and «u»Aegyptus «/u», King of Egypt. However, it is not clear if this Cepheus is the same as the more well-known Cepheus, who features in the «u»Perseus «/u» legend as the husband of «u»Cassiopeia «/u» and father of «u»Andromeda «/u», and whose brother «u»Phineus «/u» expected to marry Andromeda. This other Cepheus is given as a son of «u»Agenor «/u» (not the father of «u»Cadmus «/u» and «u»Europa «/u»). The two Aethiopian kings named Cepheus are separated by several generations, and it is not clear if the mythographers intended them to be one and the same person.
The first «b»Cepheus«/b» (son of Belus) has a wife named «u»Iope «/u». This Cepheus was possibly the grandfather of the second Cepheus, if Agenor was his son.
The second «b»Cepheus«/b» (son of Agenor), was the husband of Cassiopeia and father of Andromeda.
