Gilukhipa«/b», or more probable «i»Kilu-Hepa«/i» in «u»Hurrian language «/u», in the «u»Egyptian language «/u» «i»Kirgipa«/i», was the daughter of «u»Shuttarna II «/u», king of «u»Mitanni «/u».
For political reasons, she was sent to «u»Egypt «/u» to join «u»Amenhotep III «/u» in marriage. The Egyptian pharaoh made a special issue of commemorative «u»scarabs «/u» on the occasion of his marriage to Gilukhipa in his 10th regnal year, where he recorded that the princess was escorted by 317 ladies-in-waiting, women from the Mitanni king's royal palace.«u»[2]«/u» Gilukhipa became known as the "Secondary King's Wife," meaning she was secondary to Amenhotep III's chief wife, Queen «u»Tiye «/u».
Twenty-six years later, her niece «u»Tadukhepa «/u» also became Amenhotep's wife.
