      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiaa,_wife_of_Amenhotep_II

«b»Tiaa«/b» or «b»Tia'a«/b» was an «u»Ancient Egyptian «/u» queen during the «u»eighteenth dynasty of Egypt «/u». She was the wife of «u»Pharaoh «/u» «u»Amenhotep II «/u» and the mother of «u»Thutmose IV[1]«/u».

She is never called «i»king's daughter,«/i» and thus her parentage is unknown. It has been speculated that she was Amenhotep's sister or half sister, but it is not certain.«u»[2]«/u» During the reign of her husband the women of the royal family were much less represented than earlier during the 18h dynasty; this was probably because the pharaoh did not want any of them usurp power as «u»Hatshepsut «/u» had only a few decades earlier.«u»[3]«/u». Tiaa is the only known wife of Amenhotep, and her name is known to us only because she was the mother of the next pharaoh, Thutmose IV. She received the title of «u»Great Royal Wife «/u» during her son's reign; in her husband's lifetime it was borne only by Amenhotep's mother «u»Merytre-Hatshepsut [3]«/u».

Tiaa is not depicted on any monuments built by her husband, only on those which were completed by her son. During the reign of Thutmose IV she rose to more prominence; along with the title of Great Royal Wife she also received the titles «i»King's Mother«/i» and «i»God's Wife.«/i» On many statues she and Thutmose's first chief wife «u»Nefertari «/u» accompany the pharaoh«u»[4]«/u». Several depictions of Merytre-Hatshepsut were altered to show Tiaa.«u»[5]«/u». One of Thutmose's daughter, «u»Tiaa «/u» is likely to have been named after her.

Tiaa was buried in the tomb «u»KV32 «/u» in the «u»Valley of the Kings «/u», where fragments of her funerary equipment were found. Floodwater washed some of these into «u»KV47 «/u», the adjacent 19th dynasty tomb of Pharaoh «u»Siptah «/u», causing Egyptologists to believe they belong to a like-named mother of Siptah«u»[1][6]«/u», however, since then Siptah's mother has been identified as a Syrian concubine named Sutailja.
