      «b»Siconulf«/b» (also «i»Siconolf«/i», «i»Sikenolf«/i», «i»Siconolfo«/i», or «i»Siconulfus«/i») the brother of «u»Sicard «/u», «u»prince of Benevento «/u» (832-839), who was assassinated by «u»Radelchis «/u». In response to Sicard's murder, the people of «u»Salerno «/u» proclaimed Siconulf prince in opposition to Radelchis. At the time Radelchis was holding Siconulf prisoner in «u»Taranto «/u». A group of people from the cities of «u»Salerno «/u» and «u»Amalfi «/u» went there in disguise as Amalfian merchants and rescued Siconulf from prison, bringing him to Salerno
